'The body as oblation' that is according to me the idea behind Shiva Sutra II.8. Offer your body to God, as his temporary residence on earth. Invited Him to inhabit your body. It will makes you into a 'murti' and embodiment of the Supreme Soul. Ones ego may stay, it can serve God as a priest or priestess in the chapel of own heart. The human body is created to be in use as a Temple of the Holy Spirit so let's use our bodies for the purpose where it is made for.
