Please note that my English transliteration of the root vri at the end of the second paragraph above academically inaccurate. With the diacritical "dot" under the English letter "r" the "i" that follows is redundant (it's phonetically included in the previous Sanskrit symbol when rendered in Devanagari).
With gratitude to Dr. Marcy Braverman Goldstein (who first introduced me to the Sanskrit syllabary back in 2002) for pointing out a similar error in an earlier shrishari Blog post.
