  2. grounding thru the hands and wrists .. of course .... what would Bruce Lee say ????

Thanks so much for the comment, and I love the Bruce Lee reference Don, but it's really important for yoga practitioners *not* to ground through the wrists, which are highly vulnerable to long-term injury. I recommend rooting down through the fingertips and the mounds of the pointer fingers to protect the carpal tunnels/wrists.   3. Did I write "wrists" ?? ....I meant fingers of course as the wrist can be injured quite easily. Interesting how you combine Newtonian physics with your yoga training. They go hand in hand or palm and fingertips ... no pun intended ... :-) When I used to do push-ups in my martial arts training, I would on occasion do them on my fingers. Most of my co trainees would first find this difficult if not impossible, however by "careful" and slow practice of fingertip push-ups, the power of grip and dexterity become greatly enhanced. To this day I can still perform fingertip push-ups .... of course not as many as when I was younger. Anyways ...... "grounding" in martial arts refers to a balanced stance or firm footing, or a balanced state of mind ... especially in Aikido, which is, IMHO ... the most spiritual of the martial arts.
